Outline of project:
Die Müll App ('the waste app') is a smart phone app that allows citizens to synchronize their local waste collection calendar with the calendar on their smart phone, ensuring they never miss a collection day. The app allows the user to personalise their collection diary based on waste type, informing them on which type of bin they need to put out on certain days - resulting in their local collection services running more efficiently.

As well providing an automated reminder service, the waste app also provides citizens with a medium to direct questions regarding waste collection at their local authority; as well as place orders for new bins or alert authorities to issues such as 'flytipping'. The app also provides users with updates on opening and closing times for local recycling centres, and the locations of others nearby when their nearest one is closed.
